Novak, whose real name is Benjamin Joseph Manaly Novak, was born in 1979 into a creative family. His father, William Novak, is the co-author of "The Big Book of Jewish Humor." His younger brothers, Jess and Lev, are also involved in the arts, with Jess writing electronic music and Lev being a talented rapper.
Novak grew up in Newton, Massachusetts, where he also attended high school.
Novak's talents began to shine during his time at Harvard University, where he became a notable student. He participated in student productions and served as both an author and inspiration for many of them.
His major in English and Spanish literature allowed him to also write for various publications.
